Hoosier Veterans given new support dogs

“I’ve been dealing with pain for 10 years now, and to have a presence like this service dog to help easy my struggles, to ease my anxiety and ease my PTSD, I’m excited to see what can happen.” says Gabe Fleck, one of the veterans who received a service dog.

The dogs come from the organization “Whalen’s Heroes” which funds the training for support dogs for local military veterans and first responders. The dogs are trained to perform specific tasks that address, PTSD symptoms, relieve anxiety, encourage independence and confidence to help improve the lives of their veteran companions.
