I’ve always been passionate about our Military and Law Enforcement/Firefighters. After attending an event and hearing from a Veteran about what it was really like when he served after 9/11, I left determined to figure out what I could do to give back to those who give so much. The stories from the Veterans about their lives before and after their service dog stuck with me. My personal experience has been that Veterans are very humble and don’t accept gratitude easily because they are doing their job. I can never verbalize how much them doing their job means to me. So instead of trying to do it all, I decided to focus on one thing, and that one thing is to help those individuals receive their service dogs. The stories I heard from individuals who have received service dogs and how those dogs changed and saved their lives is the reason why I decided to do this.
